The spice filled weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway not only marked the finale of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series but marked the successful completion of the debut of the Beyer Racing team as well.Behind the wheel battling the hot and humid conditions were Jared Beyer and Mike Forest (No 5 Lennox Chevrolet Crawford), and brothers Ricky Taylor and Jordan Taylor (No 13 Brach’s Chevrolet Riley) that was only made worse by their closed-cockpit Daytona Prototypes.Jordan Taylor started facing a recurring problem throughout the race.Only after a few laps the tires for both the Beyer cars started loosing grip that made controlling the 500hp Brach’s Daytona Prototype extremely challenging.He still managed to flag in on position 11.On Lap 22 he had an opportunity to pick up pace as he received new rubber; however, he got stuck behind slower traffic for the rest of the race which did not work in his favor.By Lap 41 his brother Rick Taylor took over and with a very strategic gamble managed to make it to the third position by lap 58.Now Rick Taylor would try to defend his championship by challenging Scott Pruett on the tracks until he ran wide and forced Taylor off the tracks.This caused Rick Taylor to loose a very crucial track position.The 20 year old did try his best; however he was forced off the Replica IWC Watches tracks and had to pit in order to clean the debris from his radiator. In spite of the setbacks he faced, he did not give up hope and continued to do his best that eventually made him take the checkered flag in the ninth position.
